Mary

Mary looked from the lovely face of her sister, to the face of her new brother in law.  He was handsome, she had to admit that, though she still did not much care for him. He did seem to be concerned.  What a lovely house!  What must it be like to live here?  I could never imagine! But she soon drove all thoughts of envy away from her mind.  It did not do to dwell on it.  She must really be grateful that both her older sisters married so well.

Oh dear!  How am I to break it to them?!

Darcy

Pacing the room, Mr. Darcy kept looking out the windows. Of all days, why did she choose this day to walk all the way to Lampton and back? But there was nothing for it now....he looked over at his sister-in-law who was attempting to make herself comfortable, but was failing miserably. She looked up at him and smiled awkwardly.  He smiled back, but was not certain whether he actually pulled it off or not.  He resumed his pacing....back and forth.....

Finally he heard the, now familiar, footfall of his wife. He savored that word in his mind.....every single time he thought or heard the word, he could not help but feel happy.

She entered the room with a worried air about her.  She came straight over to him, not even noticing her sister in the corner.  He smiled and greeted her, then gestured towards her sister.

"Mary!" the surprise was evident in her voice, but the delight was there as well.  For they had not seen any of her family since they had returned from their honeymoon nearly a month previous. He watched as the two women exchanged affectionate greetings, and then, when asked why she had traveled so far without warning, Mary looked quite pale and sat down and put her head in her hands.   Lizzy looked up at her husband, who tried to give as much support as he could under the circumstances. Suddenly, Mary lifted her head and took a deep breath.

"Do, please forgive me. It has been a trying journey, and I am afraid that I do not bear glad tidings."  She looked at them, as though they should know what she had to say before she said it.

Lizzy

Okay, so let's get this started....

I'm going to begin......I'm not sure how I want to do this yet....I need your input.  Afterall, as I said before, I can't do this alone.....so, here goes.....

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-

Coming around the bend in the road, she came across a sight that still made her heart leap into her throat.  As she approached the gates, she looked at the words long etched into the stone, "Pemberly Estate", and gently traced them with her fingers....she smiled to herself and moved to open the gate.....

Suddenly, the gateman came scamering out, and opened the gate.  As she passed through, he tipped his hat. "Beg pardon, my lady.  I didn't expect to see you outside the grounds." He turned slightly away from her to close the gate.

"I hardly expected myself to be out this afternoon.  But I found I had some business in Lampton, and since it is such a fine day, I thought I would walk there."

"Very well, Madame." and he bowed to her.  Strange, she thought, I don't know that I'll ever get used to it.  She continued walking down the driveway as it wound it's way through the woods that led up to her home. Home! What bliss it is to call it that!  I never thought I would call it home, after I first set eyes on it.  As she walked, she became lost in her thoughts...

The first time I saw the house....it took my breath away.  I  had never seen a house look more happily situated.  As I reflect upon it now, looking at my surroundings, I honestly believe that I began to fall in love with my husband, when I first saw his home. I know it sounds silly, but, it was the begining...and oh! how I wouldn't have it any other way now!

As she approached the house, one of the maids came running up to her.

"What is it? Is Miss Georgiana ill?" the maid shook her head no, but could scarcely draw breath.

Finally, she caught her breath. "Oh, no Madame, Miss Georgiana is quite well.  No, the Master sent me to look for you, he looked terribly agitated."

"Tell him I shall be in directly". The maid curtseyed.

"He is in the blue drawing room, Madame." She watched the girl race back into the house, as she quickened her step. Whatever could be the matter?

Okay, well, it's a start anyway.....however badly done!  So, whoever is truly interested in participating....now's the time to speak up!

Okay, so I admit it....

I'm a romantic! and, YES! I did just get back from seeing the new "Pride and Prejudice" in the theatre, but that doesn't mean that this site is just some passing whim! Most likely, anyone reading this will already be aquainted with me, and my writing.  Well, now is the time for me to ask all of you who subscribe to me to join me in my writing!  If you love Jane Austen, then let me know!  I love to write, but I love it even more, when I can work with others...bounce ideas off of them...in other words...I need your help!!!

I want to start a  role play.....it will begin with the ever popular idea of continuing the stories of Jane Austen....all of them!  Not just "Pride and Prejudice", though of course, that will be our starting point.  I am completely up for any and all suggestions!

I hope to welcome you all to the Pemberly Estate soon!
